You'll be the final touchpoint in our guests' shopping journey, ensuring they leave with a positive impression of Target. Your role will involve operating point-of-sale systems, processing various payment methods including Target RedCard, and promoting our Target Circle rewards program to enhance guest savings and loyalty.
In this dynamic retail environment, you will handle transactions for everything from everyday essentials to seasonal merchandise, electronics, and home goods. Your attention to detail ensures accurate scanning, proper handling of coupons and promotions, and correct change for cash transactions. You will assist guests with returns and exchanges, answer questions about products and store policies, and work collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient front-end operations. During busy periods, your ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy will be essential to keeping checkout lines moving smoothly.

What You'll Do
- Greet every guest with a warm welcome and friendly attitude
- Accurately scan and process guest purchases through POS system
- Handle cash, credit cards, debit cards, and Target RedCard transactions
- Promote Target Circle rewards program and RedCard credit benefits
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout lane
- Process returns and exchanges following Target's guest service policies
- Balance cash drawer at the start and end of each shift
- Respond to guest questions about products, prices, and store policies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient front-end operations
- Support cart retrieval and store cleanliness initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Must be at least 16 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong guest service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to learn and operate POS technology quickly
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Previous retail or cashier experience is a plus but not required
- Comfortable handling cash and processing payments
